150 is a good score in Jee Main. But if you want to get top NITs like NIT Trichy, Warangal, Surathkal, Nagpur etc., then you must aim to score at least 200 marks in Jee Main. For branches like Computer Science, Mechanical, which fills faster, scoring 210+ marks will keep you in safer side. Usually in April Session (September this year), around 12,00,000 students appear for Jee Main and NIT seats usually get filled within 40,000 rank. So the competition is much high. Securing a rank within 8,000 can fetch you these top NITs. For other NITs, like NIT Uttarakhand, Jamshedpur, Patna, Goa etc scoring 160 to 180 marks can fetch you seat there.
