The cut off in JEE mains is basically meant for jee advanced but it is of no use if you can't clear the cut off for jee advanced. You cant hope for.nits even the lower ones because the cut off for nits is generally higher than jee advanced cut off .

Although various factors are considered while deciding the cut offs like number of candidates appearing in the examination number of vacant seats in college, previous years cut offs and difficulty level of the paper.
