Till date, you could give jee mains exam 3 times. But, from 2019 this exam will be conducted by NTA so, there's no clarification regarding this. You can give JEE mains three times. Generally first attempt is done when you are in 12th standard and remaining two attempts can give next two years.

NTA will be conducting JEE Main 2019  exam and the eligibility for the exam for 2019 remains same and there will be two attempts - one in January other in April.

There will no change in the number of yearly attempts i.e. 3. Candidates still can appear in JEE Main exam three times in three consecutive years.
