JEE Main Most Scoring Concept: January 2025 Session | April 2025 Session
Paper 2B is specially designed for students who want to pursue a Bachelor of Planning (B.Planning) course.
It is different from Paper 1 (B.E./B.Tech) and Paper 2A (B.Arch).
B.Planning focuses on urban planning, regional development, environmental planning, etc.
You must have passed or appeared in 10+2 or equivalent with Mathematics as a compulsory subject .
There is no age limit , but you must meet your institute’s age criteria if any.
The Paper 2B exam is conducted for 400 marks and has 3 sections :
Mathematics – 20 MCQs + 10 NAT (Numerical Value) questions (Only 5 NAT to be answered) – 100 marks
Aptitude Test – 50 MCQs based on spatial reasoning, figures, mental ability – 200 marks
Planning-Based Questions – 25 MCQs on general planning awareness, GK related to cities, transport, policy, etc. – 100 marks
Entire Paper 2B is conducted in Computer-Based Mode .
Duration of the exam is 3 hours .
For MCQs: +4 for correct , -1 for wrong answers.
For NAT: +4 for correct , no negative marking .
NITs like NIT Calicut, NIT Bhopal, NIT Nagpur offer B.Planning courses.
Also accepted in SPA (School of Planning and Architecture) and a few GFTIs .
Focus more on map reading, urban topics, planning laws , and analytical reasoning .
Practice previous year papers and mock tests to understand the pattern better.
Regularly revise mathematics formulas , especially geometry and coordinate topics.
Apply only if you're genuinely interested in city and infrastructure development careers.
