Hello,

Admissions in mechanical engineering would be based on your graduation score or performance in entrance test JEE. There is no role attach to your B.Sc. Although your B.Sc. degree may come in action if you apply for lateral entry in B.Tech.

This entry scheme is for only those students who have completed either diploma in engineering or B.Sc. This scheme is best suited for you because you will get admission in 2nd year of B.Tech. and hence the course duration shall be three years only.

 Colleges/universities for lateral entry are;

Indraprastha University

Cochin University

KIITS, Orissa

VIT Vellore

MIT Manipal

Thapar University

State government engineering entrance exam is also an option for lateral entry.
