The National Medical Commission (NMC) has said that the National Exit Test (Next-NExT) for MBBS students will be conducted in the first half of 2023 as per the plan. With the conduct of this test, medical students will be exempted from appearing in many examinations, but only after passing it will they be allowed to register as a doctor. The test is being started with the aim of improving the quality of medical education.
This information was given to Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya on behalf of the NMC during the review meeting on Friday. He said that preparations are going on for Next. Before starting its implementation from 2023, a mock test will be conducted in 2022 to pique the curiosity of medical students.
