MBA(Masters of business administration) and PGDM(Post graduate diploma in management) are same courses in terms of career choices and future growth. They are considered to be equal.

The MBA program is of 2 years and PGDM may last from one to two years. MBA is focused more on developing business and technical knowledge for the business world. It basically focuses more on theoretical knowledge. Whereas, PGDM is focused towards the  practical  approaches of things. It molds the students to tackle real world situations. It is more of  a practical oriented course.

MBA's fees is generally affordable but PGDM's fees is much higher than that of MBA's. PGDM course is more relevant and updated because it is set by individual universities and usually changes within an year or so. On the other hand, MBA's curriculum is set by universities. It offers dual specialisation whereas PGDM offers a single subject.

Beliefs and acceptance are different. Companies usually don't differentiate between both of them in terms of career growth and salary. They both offer same and equally important career prospects.But , it's always like a degree from an affiliated university generates more brand value. Otherwise there is no major difference of concern between the two of them. Both are equally good in their own areas. Everything has advantages and disadvantages , so do these have!!
