With 285 marks (OBC), you have a chance to get a government BAMS seat in states with lower cutoffs like UP, MP, or Bihar. But chances are low in high-cutoff states, so keep semi-govt or private colleges as backup.

Hello,

Depending on your state of residence and the cutoff patterns or that year, you might have a good chance of getting a BAMS seat in a government college if you have a Neet 2025 score of 285 and fall under the OBC category.

States like Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Bihar, and Chhattisgarh have somewhat lower cutoffs of BAMS government seats.

Recommendation:

  • Use the counselling portal for your state (e.g., UP AYUSH, MP DME, etc.) to register for your state AYUSH counselling.
  • Engage in the first, second, mop-up, and history vacancy rounds because seeds are abandoned and merit decreases a little in subsequent rounds.
