With an AIQ rank of 1188 in NEET MDS 2025, getting a government seat is unlikely, especially if you are in the General category. Usually, government seats go to candidates with ranks below 1000. However, you can try private or deemed universities where seats may be available for your rank. Look for different specializations and colleges to increase your chances of admission.

Hello Ashima,

With an AIQ rank of 1188 in NEET MDS 2025, you have a very reasonable chance of receiving a government seat, particularly in non-clinical or para-clinical branches, and potentially clinical branches in some states or central institutes based on category, seat matrix, and cutoff trends. Your chances improve if:

  • You belong to a reserved category (OBC/SC/ST).
  • You are open to DNB CET/INIs or state quota counseling (check domicile rules).
  • You consider all India round 2 and mop-up rounds, where cutoffs may drop.
