For admission to an MS program in Germany, you will have to take the following steps:

• Take the GRE General test. Candidates generally require a score of 315+ on the GRE for admission to the top universities. You may also take the GRE Subject test in Physics of Mathematics if you want to further improve your chances for admission to the specific program. 
• Take an English language proficiency test. This can be either IELTS Academic, TOEFL iBT or PTE Academic. For admission to most universities, you need a minimum IELTS score in the 6.0 band or a minimum TOEFL iBT score of 90.
• If required by the university of application, you may also have to take a German language proficiency test for admission.
• Apart from required tests, applicants are required to submit a statement of purpose or statement of intent along with 2-3 letters of recommendation. Furthermore, students are required to have an excellent academic record with most universities preferring candidates who have secured a 3+ GPA on a 4.0 scale.
• Some German universities also accept admissions to masters programs on the basis of GATE score.
