Hello Dear

The percentile which your friend has obtained is low through which he/she can't be able to take the admission in the NIT because as per the analysis made by the experts you should have the atleast score of more than 98+ percentile in the JEE mains entrance exam such that based upon your obtained rank and based upon the category wise cuttoff you can be able to get into the good Colleges. So better tell her / him to try more and with a better preparation in the JEE mains April session entrance exam such that he/she can be able to take the dream College.

Hey,

the percentile is very low for getting an nit. NITs require more than 90%. My suggestion to your friend is to re-appear for the next session of the exam i.e. in April. This time the result will be declared on the basis of both the exams. So you can score more in the next exam and get into an nit.
