As the term suggests, EWS category  refers to those people who come from economic poor background aur financially weak another provided reservation in government colleges on the basis of national level entrance examinations.

Now there are certain criteria for a person to fall under ews category, first of all he should be from the general category itself. Secondly, his parents should not be in a government job in order to be eligible for ews category, and most importantly he should not have possession of Agricultural land more than 5 acres. His family income should also be less than 8 lacs per annum.
