Hey buddy. Well I was checking out for the preparatory courses yesterday, and in IIT Mandi, the rank was around 500. And if you want to see by yourself the opening and closing rank then you can visit the official site of JOSSA and in the opening and closing ranks you can look out for all the IIT and NIT.For the preparatory course, the rank had been marked with P in front of them so from their you can look out for a estimation of which college you can get for preparatory course. If you still not able to find something valuable let me know I will provide the information.

But i really could not find the letter "P" written in any of the opening and closing ranks. Can you please help me with that? And can you yourself check and tell me by my rank (935 prep sc) where can i get preparatory course ? And also tell me how to check by myself? Cause i need to show to my parents cause they are very tensed.Thanks for all these help.

So from their you can check for your requirement.

Hey buddy. Well I went through all the IIT, and think that you are a boy otherwise you might have got a seat because for female candidates the seat are alloted even at above 1000 rank. So it might be a hard luck but for now, cutoff is around 300 for boys. Let's see in second round and after that almost the whole scenario will be clear.

Buddy their is always a luck factor. Since last few year even candidates with 1000 rank were able to get the seat, but who knows what might happen this time. But still I think by 7th round you might be able to grab the seat. If you would have been a girl, by now the seat would have been in your hand so let's see what's gonna happen in next rounds.

Bro I'm super tensed that's why I'm asking you again for help.  Can you please tell me the number of  sc students which were taken form preparatory rank list (male) for the past few years? I meant what was the cutoff rank for sc preparatory course candidates for the past few years (male)?

Hey buddy. Actually the number changes every time and that's because of the students who are involved for preparatory course as for preparatory course are for those who can't clear the cutoff and belong to reserved classes. If their are more number of students from reserved category who have qualified the exam, then the seat for preparatory courses get reduced and if less candidates qualify then the preparatory course seats get increase. So this time as well it will depend on how many reserved categories candidates have qualified and how many seats have been left vacant. And about last year cutoff I will do some research and tell you after some time.

Okay buddy please let me know the previous year trends. But isn't by rank enough to get preparatory courses in any of the IIT'S ?

Hey buddy. After getting through some study I was able to find that in every IIT their are around 50-60 preparatory courses seat and since their are 23 IIT so around 1000 students can get enrolled in preparatory course. And also what's happen is that after the completion of preparatory courses then college may vary in which you will be alloted a seat. It all depend on your performance in the exams. If you perform well you might even get a better IIT as compared to the one in which you get preparatory course and the same goes for NIT. So a little suggestion that don't let even a single chance slip whether it's a IIT or NIT because the final result can make the change.And sorry to say buddy but I was not able to find the exact cutoff of last year preparatory course but as soon as I get some information I will surely tell you.

Okay buddy and once again thanks a ton for all your efforts.And buddy do you know whether the list for preparatory course for sc, st, pwd, sc-pwd, St-pwd are same? Or these are different preparatory list for each of the different quotas? Or there is only single preparatory list for all the quotas?

Since the preparatory course are provided to fill the vacant seat of any particular quota so every quota has it's own seat for preparatory course.

Buddy the second round of josaa seat allocation is out and till now i could not grab a seat in the preparatory courses in IIT? Can you please tell me the statistics of the second round of counselling for the preparatory courses and whether i would be able to grab a seat in the preparatory course in the upcoming rounds. Please help me with it.
