With a NEET PG rank of 50,000, MD in Community Medicine (Preventive & Social Medicine) is one of the more attainable options because it usually has lower cutoffs compared to clinical branches like Medicine, Pediatrics, or Radiology. In your range, you can realistically expect chances in private medical colleges, deemed universities, and some state quota seats in less competitive states (like Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, and some North-East states). Government colleges in high-demand states are less likely at this rank, but deemed/private colleges such as in Karnataka (KIMS, JNMC Belagavi, SDM Dharwad), Tamil Nadu (SRM, Saveetha, Chettinad), and Maharashtra (DY Patil, Pravara Institute) are probable options.
With a rank of 50,000 in NEET PG, chances for getting MD in Community Medicine are decent because this branch is not among the top most demanded ones like Medicine, Radiology or Pediatrics. Seats for Community Medicine are generally available till later rounds, especially in state government medical colleges and some deemed/private universities. You can expect chances in peripheral state colleges such as those in Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra depending on domicile and state quota. In All India Quota (AIQ) 50%, seats in top metro colleges may not be possible at this rank, but peripheral institutes and newer medical colleges definitely remain an option. Also, deemed universities like in Karnataka or Maharashtra may offer seats in mop-up rounds, though with higher fees. My suggestion is to participate actively in both All India and State counselling and don’t lose hope, because Community Medicine usually remains vacant till the later rounds.
