With an SC rank of around 11,499, chances of getting top government colleges in highly competitive streams (like MBBS, BDS, or MD/MS) are very low, since most SC seats in govt. colleges close much earlier.

But if your query is for engineering, AYUSH, or paramedical courses, then there may still be chances depending on the state and cut-off. You should try for state quota counselling as SC category cut-offs are relatively relaxed there compared to All India Quota.

Best wishes!

With an SC rank of 11,499 in WBJEE 2025, chances for top government colleges (like Jadavpur, KGEC, UIT Burdwan) are very slim since their SC cutoffs close much earlier. However, you may still get seats in some district-level government engineering colleges (like Jalpaiguri, Cooch Behar, or Kalyani Govt. Engineering & Technology) but mostly in core branches (EE, ME, Civil, etc.) rather than CSE/IT.

With an SC category rank of 11,499, getting admission in a government medical college is quite challenging, as government seats are usually filled by candidates with much lower ranks. However, the exact chances depend on your state quota cut-offs, the availability of reserved seats, and how many candidates above you opt for private/deemed universities instead. You should definitely participate in all rounds of counselling, including mop-up rounds, because sometimes ranks go higher than expected due to seat withdrawals. Keep an eye on both state counselling and All India Quota (AIQ) cut-offs. Parallelly, you can also explore options in private or deemed universities, where the cut-offs are relatively higher. In short, government college chances are less at this rank, but don’t lose hope—stay active in counselling and consider backup options as well.
