Preparatory courses are given for those who does not clear their category cutoff only if the particular category seats are vacant by any chance. Also , the student should not have  accepted a seat in the preparatory course earlier. Hence, it is difficult to predict because only after counselling you will know how many seats have been left vacant this year under sc category. But still with a rank above 2000 it is a little difficult to get a preparatory course because usually number of vacant seats left are less in number . Also if you take sc category seats , it is limited too in number . Anyways , if you have a good JEE Main score the best option is to go for NITs .
