NTSE exam 2020 result will be declared on second week of February  2020 and the cutoff for the exam will be affected by the following factors the

Number of students attended the exam the difficulty of the exam

Highest score scored by candidate and the lowest score of a candidate

Number of seats available

last year the score was 146 for general and 128 for OBC

For 2020  the predicted score is 146 155 for general and 130- 140 for OBC.

So by getting 153 marks, your son has a better chance of qualifying, anyway wait till the result is out.

The cutoff for the National Talent Search Examination will be released at a later date. However, the expected cutoffs for NTSE Stage-1 Kerala to move on to Stage-2 are:

• General: 145-155
• OBC- 130-140
• SC- 105-115
• ST- 85-95

However, these are just the expected cutoffs and the actual one may vary. Check this site for more information:
