Hi Sir,
Congrats to your son for getting good rank in JEE main 2018. He can get seat in his state NIT through home state quota or in any Government funded technical Institutions of state.
Admission in colleges depends upon Cut off list prepared by JoSAA. It depends on rank he get.

Pro Tip for students :

Apply for Home state NIT first through Home state quota.
Fill your counselling details very carefully
Before Applying for any college do check previous year cut off list and closing rank of that NIT's and IIIT's and GFTI's
