First of all i would congratulate you and your son over achieving this spectacular score. But as per your expectations , your son rank will be under 30,000. So getting into a CSE discipline into top 10 NIT's under this rank would be tough but it may be possible that you may get any other branch as per previous year's cutoff. But i would suggest you to make him prepare hard for JEE Advanced as he can perform very well in that because he has got that caliber.

As your son have got 96.70 percentile his expected rank would be 28677  and with that rank it is very hard to get top NITs or any other NITs because the cut off for top 10 NITs is very high.They haven't released their official cut off yet,so you have to wait.However,you can check last year cut off of NITs from here https://engineering.careers360.com/articles/jee-main-cutoff
