Dear Somil, if you belong to Open Category and your family income from all sources is less than 8 lakhs per annum, you are eligible for EWS Reservation. Either a Hindu or Muslim or a Christian who has quoted himself/herself to be under Open Category and hasn't been claiming any benefits of OBC,SC,ST reservations is eligible for EWS reservation. So even if your Certificates mention that you belong to Hinduism, if you fulfil EWS criteria, you can avail this reservation. That shouldn't be a problem. EWS reservation is for Economically Backward sections of General Category belonging to any faith.

Ma'am but in mumbai they are asking me show caste which i belong and telling that your surname belong obc category and i don't have any proof for that i belong to baniya caste and caste come under open category all over india what can i do for that?

You will have to talk to the certificate generating authorities, Somil. Do you have your 10th certificate or 12th certificate that shows your Category as OC? Actually Open Category candidates will not have Caste certificate because they do not have any reservations to avail. Check with them if you get an affidavit done stating that you belong to Open Category and dont want to avail any OBC benefits in the future. This might help. If you have a Ration Card, please check if there are any Category details mentioned on it.

priyaankasarkar I have all certificates but in that there is no mention of caste and in leaving certificate at place caste specification they have written hindu and they are not doing and correction for that and my father doesn't have any valid proof of caste as he never thought this we have to proof our caste as open category. Our government work is so confusing what can i do for that
