National Means cum Merit Scholarship or NMMS is a government scholarship scheme aimed at supporting students from economically weaker backgrounds. It is awarded to the meritorious students of Class 8. Under this scholarship, Rs 1000 per month is awarded to students every year at class 9 level, which can be continued up to class 12 helping them continue their education without financial burden. To be eligible, a student’s family income should be below 3.5 lakh per year and the student must score more than 55% marks.
