In this kind of situation, there are three categories of students i) Students who understand that they have got an opportunity and they utilise the time smartly. They work upon their weak areas, strengthen their conceptual understanding, focus on mock tests.
ii) Students who were actually preparing very hard and were in their full momentum but suddenly because of the postponement they lose the momentum
iii) Students who actually start enjoying the situation rather than focusing on studies.
So, it depends on the student. Situation is usually in favor of students but only those students get an advantage who focus and utilise the time. I have seen few good students actually fail to achieve success due to such kind of postponement in the examination and few students got success because they got an opportunity of time. It's up to the student to utilise the time or not but usually it should work in the favour of students if they are serious.
