Dear Sanjbati, the present domicile rule states that either candidates seeking admission to MBBS/BDS colleges must be domicile of West Bengal for atleast 10 years or their parents must have been permanent residents of West Bengal. The government is considering the possibikities of ammending laws for providing 20% domicile quota to Brngal Students in Medical Colleges. With the new rule, students who have not studied in West Bengal comtinuously for a decade atleast will be prevented from studying MBBS there. 20% domicile quota will be implemented for MBBS/BDS seats.
