It is held to find talented students from economically weaker sections.
Selected students get a scholarship to continue their studies.

The National Merit-cum-Means Scholarship examination is conducted by the State Councils of Educational Research and Training. This examination has two sections - MAT and SAT.

Practicing the question papers is required to crack the examination. It will also increase the preparation level of the students.
