Dear Sinha, MCI gives permission for 5 new medical colleges in West Bengal. The new government colleges are based at Diamond Harbour, Cooch Behar, Raiganj and Rampurhat which were given the MCI recognition with 100 MBBS seats each. The private medical college Shri Ramkrishna Institute of Medical Sciences & Sanaka Hospitals, Durgapur got an approval of 150 MBBS Seats. A total of 650 seats to be added.
