Comprehensive Guide: IIT's | NIT's | IIIT's
See this is a very broad question. Broad in the sense answer of every individual will vary from person to person. Being an engineering student, I can share my own one.
Engineering is a degree course that gives you either B.Tech or B.E. degree. The course includes a rigorous curriculum of 40 subjects coupled with projects, assignments and exams.
Here the level of soundness comes. The better yhe institute, the harder the competition.
There are 3 categories of colleges.
Government colleges include the state as well as the central. IITs, NITs are there alongwith state government colleges. You have to give JEE mains or state entrance exam to get admission.
Private colleges include VIT, MIT, SRM, KIIT, which are some premier private colleges India, but they have a high fee structure.
Placement scenario is much better in Government colleges as compared to private where the average salary is higher. Its not that private colleges have bad placements. Many companies visit and takes students from different streams.
At the final year you have to submit a project that you have done.
This is an overall idea of Engineering.
Hope for the best. Best of luck!
