Scoring 39/360 cannot be considered as sufficient score for top colleges like NITs but you mentioned that your category is SC, it is quiet possible that you get into a good college.

The rank is decided based on various factors like

• The difficulty level of your shift's paper.
• The highest score among your shift
• General cut off provided by NTA

NTA marks is percentile.

If you get 39 marks in JEE Mains Examination 2020 September attempt then, your overall percentile would be around 69.64 - 69.84 percentile and your Rank would be AIR 277723 - 317873. At this much marks you should qualify for JEE Advanced.

Your SC Category percentile would be 80.33 - 80.53 percentile ad your SC category rank would be AIR 16448 - 18598.

At this much percentile it is hard to get any NIT or CFIT, but you can go for state level colleges.
