There are just so many reservation categories in Karnataka that it can be difficult sometimes to keep a track. These categories were originally created to help poor and underprivileged.


As per your question 1G stands for 1 general that means people who do not live in rural area or are from a High caste.

1r stands for 1 rural that means people who are from rural area or lower caste.

1k stands for 1 Kannada that means people who lives in Kannada.

These categories are based on caste and quotas and cut-off is based accordingly.
