You can definitely give 2017 a try,but honestly you have very limited time for Preparation, my personal recommendation is to attempt 2018 whole heartedly with full preparation. As of Now just brush up basics and give some 3-5 odd mock exams before CAT 2017. If you score good enough, then its the best case. Incase you don't,you should aim for 2018 with 99percentile. There are plethora of books available but byfar the best have been mentioned below. 1.How to prepare for Quantitative Aptitude for the CAT by Arun Sharma. 2.Pearson Guide to Quantitative Aptitude for CAT by Nishit Sinha. Moreover, recommended to go through TIME Coaching Institute Material for Logical Reasoning , Verbal Ability, Data Interpretation of solved examples and last 5year question sets for Quantitative aptitude. For Easy level problems, or for beginner level preparation you should go with Chandresh Agarwal and notes from CATKing Coaching classes where there is elaborate pattern.

To be honest two months is a actually late to start preparing. It is tough but not impossible. You have to devote a lot of time now. Begin by going through the topics in Quant. Start solving exercises. You will get to know where you are weak. Concentrate on them and work on them as much as you can. You need to familiarize yourself with the kind of questions asked. And this is true not only for quant but also for the other two sections as well.

Give as many mock tests as you can. This is the most important thing. Subscribe to online tests on sites such as testfunda or oliveboard or any other site. You need to know how to manage your time. Mock test will not only help you to do that but also you will get to know what kind of questions come in the exam and where you stand.

Apart from cat you should also give xat and snap. Their pattern is different and after cat you could practice those papers as well. Moreover xat and snap take place after cat. So you have some more time for them. Practice is the key. Give as much time as you can and practice every day.
