No it is not true student from any stream can appear for NDA examination but to go to Air Force Academy or Indian Naval Academy as student must have physics and mathematics as a subject in his her class 12th therefore the other streams the options are very limited and students having mathematics are only able to go to any Academy of the Indian defence forces.

It not that only science student can apply for NDA exam. As per eligibility criteria, for Army Wing of National Defence Academy, candidates should be class 12 pass. For admission to Air Force and Naval Wings of National Defence Academy and for the 10+2 Cadet Entry Scheme at the Indian Naval Academy, candidates should be class 12 pass with Physics and Mathematics conducted by a State Education Board or a University.
