Hi, Placement scenario for HBTU Civil Engineering is not that good as only 8 students out of 30 got placed in 2018 with the Highest package approaching 7.5 lpa given to 3 students and the lowest as 7.24 lpa given to 5 students. Whereas, it has a reason, as most of the civil students are inclined towards competitive examinations like UPSC, GRE, etc and many IAS officers are Passout from HBTU Civil Engineering too.

Before 3 years 6–7 companies were the regular visitors at HBTI for students of Civil Engineering stream like-Larsen n Toubro, Saint Gobain, Triveni Group, Jaypee, etc. Now only LnT visits and each year the number of people recruited by LnT, has continuously come down from 17 in 2013, 13 in 2014, 6 in 2015 and 1 in 2016.
And giving few more statistics into your brain…only 2–3 from 2014 batch, 1 from 2015 batch and 0 from 2016 batch are working currently at LnT. This will also be a reason for them not coming to HBTI in near future and note, there is also negligence from the top as well.

There are many oppurtunities of placements for a Civil Engineer in construction groups and companies like L&T, Welspun Group, Ajnara, Supertech etc. You can also go for many medium enterprises like Indus Floors, Hercules systems etc. After GATE qualifying, you can go for Govt sectors.
