A college known for producing great human resource.

INFRASTRUCTURE: The campus just fails to have an infrastructure aesthetically sound enough to capture your minds and hearts in the first go, but yes, if you conceive the labs and classrooms to hold a larger stake in the domain, the college won't disappoint you much. PLACEMENTS: Placements exhibit a broad diversity here. With the Chemical Technology branches having a very large percentage placement percentage, there are certain core branches that won't just satiate you in one go. Specifically speaking, all branches but EE, ET, CE, FT and LT have decent placement percentage as well as packages. Also, the core branches are very well complimented with great results in competitions like GATE, ESE, CAT, GRE, etc. So, the human resource is just vitally developed in the span of four years. FACULTIES: All govt. engineering colleges are through an acute crunch of regular faculties and HBTU is no exception. Still, the permanent faculties stand up to the reputation of the university. Most of them hold doctorates from reputed institutions. The ad-hoc faculties might disappoint one and everyone. ADMINISTRATION: This is probably the reason why the ailing conditions of the university have long persisted. The authorities are just too reluctant when it comes to any development that demands any bit of effort from their side. INDUSTRIAL EXPOSURE: The college will just get you into a training after 3rd year if you can't manage one on your own. Some non-core branches have a better scenario though. CULTURE: The college hasn't got much to offer, and this is after attributed to the financial crunch that the college is through, and also the mighty blatant administration. HOSTEL LIFE: A lot of it depends on the individual. I find it awesome, some others spend all their time in criticism. I hope the review will help you weigh your options and make an informed decision.

If we talk about the infrastructure it is not that much pretty well what we have expected before coming to this college but as soon as u start exploring the college atmosphere you will be quite comfortable soon so not a big issue.....faculty till now i have found not soo much influencing .....if we talk about placements then they are higher for paint technology and for cse the average this year goes for 5-6lac and the heighest till date went for 12 lac.....the best part for this college is that you get good no of holidays here so you can explore and learn many things while doing your acedemics.......overall the college is good.....To get recruited in this college you must score good no of marks in jee mains ....the heighest cut off marks has gone for 167/360 for cse branch ...

HBTU K is one of the best colleges for engineering in India. After IITs and few NITs HBTU K ( GFTI) is a good option to persuade your b.tech. When HBTU K wasn't university(hbti ) it was the first choice for the students coming from UPSEE so the best minds of U.P. lives here. Now it has been granted university status so obviously it's reputation around the India and it's infrastructure,it's academics will get better surely. HBTU K is a good option in every aspect(except infra ,but it getting better after university status). So if you get HBTU K don't miss it untill you get an IIT or good NIT.

It is a nice college with good opportunities and wholistic development. The college authorities are very particular about the disciple and decorum of the institute. The placement is good and provide industry exposure. The teachers and faculty are well educated and we'll versed. The college life is good. Finally it is a nice college.

Students have to do everything on their own. The industry exposure is fairly okay. The students are mostly busy in their self-studies and don't rely much on college.Overall life is good.you can survive in any condition after being in hbti for four years...apart from academics for which everyone at hbti is already good you will learn a lot of things.except few are great professor, all are dumb.you only have to work, things are good but the faculty of my college is excellent, the hostel has fewer rooms but they are best one, college infrastructure was of 1921 so it good and a good environment.

HBTI, now HBTU, is one of the oldest and best colleges of UP.It is the top college of UPTU and is better than some NITs in terms of placement and quality education. The college is spread over two campuses-East(77 acres) and West(271 acres). The infrastructure of the college is not that good and lacks wifi, but one can now see a lot of developments in the campus due to the university status granted recently. There are well functional laboratories, workshop and library. The senior faculty is well qualified and experienced. The placements of the college are decent enough for all branches and are damn awesome in Chemical Engg and Paint technology. The fees of the college are pretty low compared to other engineering colleges(50k per annum approximately). Overall, the college is a pretty good place to be in for graduation.

HBTI is named among one of the topmost Engg. colleges in india and i believe it really worth it .Though infrastructure is not that good, internet facility is not there. Talking about academics, i agree that none of the deptt. have complete permanent faculties but this the scenario in every college, still our syallabus is up-to-date ,standard books are recommended. So in all its good just that marking scheme is still percentage and not cgpa. The institute is basically famous for its chemical technology branches specially chemical engg. Talking about placements , in cse ,it branch 75%+ student get placed every year,on an avg 40-45% get placed .... avg package around 4-4.5lpa. HBTI being one of the oldest college of our country have great network of alumini's working at esteemed positions everywhere across the country and it is really a brand . So i will say if you don't get through iit's, bits and top nit's , then HBTI can be choosen as an option. I am proud to say i am a harcourtian. Standard books are there ...guidance is also proper upto some extent all one need is to invest its time ...then i believe he/she can get a good job because alot of company's visit our campus. Faculties are well qualified ...just that there are vacant seats for permanent faculty . They are co -operative in nature. I wont say it offers too much facilities but still its fine. Talking about sports facility ...badminton court, T.T tables , basketball court ,cricket ,footbal ground is there. Gym is not there , in addition wifi or LAN service is not there . Basic amenities are provided well. Library is good with lots of books, newspaper and journals. Students come from different parts of country so do have different backgrounds ...mostly are of friendly nature . All an all good atmosphere is created in the campus. A lots of fests happen in our college. Individual branch fest are also there giving students great opportunity to express themselves and improve there personality. Sports wise too its good .

Growing college with good exposure to extra curricular and sports . Giving GATE and CAT toppers every year ! College has hobby fests like Udbhav ,Odyssey,Interface, nirmaan,Genesis . College recently got university status. So more growth expected.Honestly speaking.college comparable with lower NITs with better results in GATE but lacks infrastructure to some extent !

There are poor labs, bad facility, week buildings, I don't like this college at all. Our college should send students for visiting industrial trips so that we can get exposure in the corporate world. Our college life could be more happening when we are given more freedom as before and there should be no boundation for attending classes because no one will ever like to attend class for professors who themselves don't have much knowledge and act like they are the most superiors who knows everything in this world and we are like fools who does not understand a single word. Our college does not even call many companies for all the branches as we have 13 branches in our college than there should be at least 5 companies for each and every branch that too be core ones and not like any company which degrades our status for getting placed with less package.

HBTI is a very old academic institute that has changed very slowly and due to lack and improper usage of funds, it lacks some basic facilities. (HBTI is now HBTU and scenario should change) HBTI lacks in maintaining strong and quality industry connections coupled with a lack of project-based orientation in the curriculum. Freedom (a lot of) makes it really enjoyable. HBTI needs to get 2 important things straight on the front of placements: 1. Preparing students by giving them a very hands-on approach towards technology rather than examination oriented approach. 2. Deepening their connects with industry and equally focusing on placements for internships as well. College hostels lack habitability. Professors need to be more friendly and they need to change their teaching philosophy, big time. Also, they need 2 basic skills: listening and speaking. Lastly, they need to be more appreciative. Because, it is a state govt. aided institute. Thus, majority junk comes from U.P itself (through UPTU). HBTU is dead cheap. You can't ask for less.

Reputed college, good past record but is still struggling in terms of placements, infrastructure and research and development. If you are here, you have to pave your own way and dig out the opportunities one on one.So, i would recommend it but with a caution that if you are highly ambitious and aim to start with something very effective, do go through a detailed thought process and have yourself done a proper counselling.

The above phrase correctly describes the present scenario or the pathetic condition of the college and its students. a college that boasts of its reputation as one the best in up has literally nothing to brag about. a century-old infrastructure, with hardly any exposure to the students, with no clubs and poor sports facilities, leaves no stone unturned to undermine the technical and sporting abilities of the students. the college hostels are poor in condition and some are not even fit for living. the high number of guest faculty plays an important role in the loss of interest of the students in engineering itself.Low college fees which was a lone warrior in attracting students to the college has also doubled.

Hbtu kanpur is one of oldest colleges in India. It has a lot of good alumni working at good positions. That is why placement is good. A quite affordable college. But there are some bad things also. There is nothing like good infrastructure. As a student of cse, i see no coding culture. The hostel life is good with friends. But there are some restrictions. Overall, hbtu kanpur is a good college

Overall life is good....you can survive in any condition after being in hbti for four years...apart from academics for which everyone at hbti is already good you will learn a lot of things...except few professor , all are dumb...you only have to workout with your studies...being an autonomous institute you will get an idea about paper by last night. Infrastructure is not good (except mukhya bhavan)....but not even too bad...best thing is you will be with people who are best from their respective places and that's what create a good environment at hbti. First year: now along with lv old hostel. There is a new hostel which is really good...first year will be like: you will learning all new things and trends in hbti...intro, technical intro , muski and lot other stuff regarding ragging...par ab bhot kam ho gyo hai...cultural fest, technical fest...your interaction with girls...nababganj me ghumna...senior mam ko dekhna etc....treats and all...aur table tennis to raat me 3-4 baje tak chalta hai. Lv old hostel is very open from rooms to bathrooms...and doing shit is like giving performance in open field. Second year: you will be shifted to west campus..you will have to get a bike or any other means to reach east campus...by architectural design I found second year hostel best...second year is full of masti...internet, lan gaming, ramu da, election ragging(seriously this is the time when ragging actually takes place)...sometime you may even feel whether you are on vacation or doing b.tech. Third year : hostel is good but way inside even west campus...this is the year when you are responsible to organize fests...your contacts with professors will increase and you will learn how to tackle obstruction in government systems...A lot of applications...tension...third year is complex combination of studies, masti, tension, responsibilities....and after third year you will go for summer training. Final year : awwah...tension will be on your head from the first day...and probably some of your colleagues may get placed even before they unpack their bags to settle in new rooms...especially paint technology. As far as placement is considered hbti is a good college...if you are an average students certainly you will get placed in some company....but luck always has its impact...you have to wait for your day. Final year will be most enjoyable year. You will definitely be proud of being harcourtian.

Batch of 2017 | B.Tech Paint Technology
Established in 1921, one of the oldest college of India. (Now Upgraded to an University). It is different from other colleges in many ways. This college has two campus, EAST CAMPUS has administrative and academic blocks, Library, Cafeteria, 2 Boys hostel for 1st year, 4 girls Hostels. While WEST CAMPUS have Boys Hostel for 2nd, 3rd and Final Year Students, Naming WCH-II, WCH-III and WCH-I respectively and Faculty Residences. All departments has industry wide acceptance as alumni of this institute has done notable work. All faculties are quite good and expert of their subjects. As for as the Placement is concern most of the departments has good placement assistance. some have 100% Placement facilities (CSE & Paint). All department offers B.Tech, M.Tech. and PhD. Courses. College has very good competitive, inspiring and learning environment. Now if we talk about the college life than HBTU is the college of FESTS. Odyssey is the cultural fest of college, while most of the departments have their own Technical fests. Most of the students got Placed before the final exams . Most students every year got admission in IIMs. And HBTU students secured rank under 10 in GATE exam. In 2014 we had AIR 1 in GATE (Mechanical), In 2016 we had AIR 3 in GATE (Civil). Every year we had 2 or 3 ranks in top 10 in IES. and good ranks in IAS also. Hope this review will help you take decision about college.

The best thing about my college was the location. It was situated away from the city on diversion road. Infrastructure is also good. Reputed companies come for placements and hostel facility provided is also good. The faculties teach well and latest technologies are used for teaching, industrial visit, the art of living program, NIIT training, personality & skills enhancement training are also included in the course.

HBTI is one of the oldest engineering colleges of north India. It was established in pre- independence era i.e. in 1921 by the Britishers. The prime purpose of the institute was to cater to the growing demand of technocrats especially trained in chemical and allied sciences. The institute boasts of very rare and exclusive branches like Food Technology, Oil Technology, Paint Technology, Plastic Technology. These are the offshoot and specialized branches of chemical engineering. In total, there are 13 branches of engineering. The faculty is good and experienced, just a bit of persuasion is required to extract knowledge out of them. One very good thing is that you would always be required to follow the standard textbooks written by the authors who are pioneers in their field. This has a dual advantage, first, of the conceptual clarity you would acquire and second, qualifying competitive exams like GATE, PSUs etc becomes a cakewalk. Placements are good, quite a number of companies visit the campus and I would say the placements are at par with the NITs or sometimes even better than them. And the hostel life, well that is a treat of a lifetime!! As the burden of the studies is less you get all the free time to pursue what you like be it preparing for some exams or just passing the time with friends doing nothing. No wonder every year there are students who secure top ranks in exams like GATE and others. Regarding infrastructure, the college is a bit on the weaker side. But then they say that if you can survive in HBTI then you can survive anywhere. After all, life is also not a bed of roses! The whole experience makes you tougher, stronger, adjusting and adaptive, makes you learn how to extract the best from the least. It becomes a part of learning process. Although you tend to land up getting summer internships and training I feel that there is a need for more comprehensive and integrated engagement with the industries especially in today's growing and dynamic world. The college is affordable in the sense that it has a very nominal tuition and hostel fees not very much, and secondly the students from the Economically weaker sections can avail the benefit of scholarships. The college is presently affiliated to Gautam Buddha Technical University, Lucknow. But the process of converting it into a deemed university is in the pipeline. Once that happens the diversity of students expected there is going to increase for the better experience as the intake shall be from JEE. Overall the experience is one of its own kind, the college culture is quite unique and the return on investment is quite good. If you fall within the bracket of the comparable colleges then I suggest you to join HBTI.

Why to choose HBTI

HBTI is a prestigious autonomous academic institute of India. It has been ranked among top 20 engineering colleges in the country. It was established in 1921 under the guidance of Sir Spencer Harcourt Bulter, governor of the United Provinces of British India and named after him. It holds the top position in academics curriculum in the state from last few decades. The college has a huge campus with more than ten huge hostels, auditorium, cafeteria, largest workshop, sports area, guest house and separate buildings for every stream. It runs 13 branches of engineering with more than 500 admissions every year. It has strong reputation academically as it has functioned by one of the top faculties of India educated from top foreign universities. It has COPA (council of Performing Arts) for student interaction with the extra curriculum. College infrastructure is ancient and goes under renovation timely. Come to management, it is like any other government institute with some flaws. overall it is a great institute with highly focused on quality education. I am a proud Harcourtian I must say.

Batch of 2015 | B.Tech Computer Science and Engineering
It is really a good college and lies among top 30 colleges. Our faculty is best. HBIT provides us a beautiful hostel life. After coming here I came to know how really we should live our life. Here's faculty give their maximum without thinking that this is a government college and they can live without teaching.

Oldest engineering college

Batch of 2016 | B.Tech Mechanical Engineering
We have given the title as the Oldest Engineering College as it is established in the year 1921. Though its infrastructure is not so well maintained now still it has that much of good performance that many of the National institutes of technology can not compete it. It has provided us, good faculty, having the degree of Ph.D. along with some guest faculty members who tries to mould us to become a perfect engineer. Not only study other activity also going on here like sports, group discussion and personality development activities our college has got a lot of fame in sports too as it has won first prize in cricket among different college's cricket team. Now we are in the third year and we have enjoyed a lot in this college. It has given us everything which a student want in his/her life apart from study. It has well maintained the central library and we are lucky that we got standard books availability in the library which could also help us to prepare for the competitive level. Fest plays the major role in the college and I think it is the only college which organised the branch wise fest which was just one in other colleges. It helps the student to make their maximum participation in the events either it may be technical or cultural. If I Talk about the hostel facility of this college, it is absolutely good and there are that much of rooms that many no. of students can get the hostel easily with low payment of just Rs 10,000 and the mess is also fine though we couldn't compare it with the home but it is good. Placement scale is more than many of the NITs. Its student has that much of capability that it can easily compete IIT students.

This college has very ancient infrastructure. Teachers here are very experienced and knowledgeable.Sports facilities are good but we don't get exposure. Placement is excellent if you work hard and possess good communication skills. Here teachers are lenient in giving marks.

Talent exploring institute

Batch of 2016 | B.Tech Mechanical Engineering
In August 2013, we had taken admission in B.tech 1 year mechanical engineering.Though we have not got what we have assumed about its infrastructure but we have got everything that is required for being a perfect engineer. It has provided us good faculty members. They are not just our teacher but our mentors too.As it is the best government engineering, it has manufactured a lot of good engineer for giving their service not only in India even in foreign also. we want to give an example of our senior of mechanical engineering. He has secured 21 rank in IES ...there are many more examples of other students also. Odessey is the best culture fest of our institute in which many students of our and others college get opportunity to show their talents in cultural field .there are another branch wise technical fest have organised. As we all know about National Service Scheme, There is a team of NSS member of habit students and we are also the part of this scheme,,,,.and being a part of this service we have learned a lot about society ....we are giving our best in NSS along with our academics...and we have proud on ourselves for being its part. Next thing which we want to discuss is about our placement. It has gone well from the very earlier....there are many good companies come to placed students like tata motors, bajaj, General motors, TCS, Infosys, Asian paints, etc.

The faculty was good and experienced. Although the infrastructure was poor. yet we had an amazing time in the four years of college. Made amazing friends and shared so many wonderful memories. The labs were not that well equipped, but when we come to placements then I went really well especially for computer science branch.

It is one of the oldest colleges

Batch of 2012 | B.Tech Chemical Engineering
It is one of the oldest colleges around which has lost its sheen as time has gone by. While new colleges have mushroomed (with impressive infrastructure and all), HBTI continues to try and harp on lost glory. I would say if you go to the Chemical and allied industries, the brand still commands some respect. However, no other domain would even provide the slightest of recognition.

Yes, the college is one if the oldest. Placements are decent enough. Chemical engineering is the best have companies like Exxon coming for placements can't say the same for oil paint and leather.lacks infrastructure like other good colleges. But still, it's good.
