The Mechanical course at Amritapuri is really good with a good mix of thoery and practice.The studnets have good projects at Amritapuri campus and Coimbatore where they participate in car building in SAE BAJA. In Amritapuri, there are options to participate in robotics projects. Students participated in the USA Mars Rover Challenge last year.

Regarding placements,you need to score a good enough GPA to be considered for placements in core companies and they are less in number compared to IT companies.So,one needs to work hard to secure a good package and the average package is around 4LPA and around 6LPA only considering core companies.
