As the name suggests, custodian is  one that guards and protects or maintains especially OR one entrusted with guarding and keeping property or records or with custody or guardianship of prisoners or inmates.

Custodian certificate is a certificate which is issued by principals of colleges where students took admission through AIQ counselling and their certificates are with those colleges. The principal will sign a certificate stating the same and during State counselling AIQ allotment letter and custodian letter are verified.

An example of a Custodian Certificate in a sentence is as follows:

"Each of the Trustee and the Certificate Administrator shall be entitled to all of the same rights, protections, immunities and indemnities afforded to it as Trustee and Certificate Administrator, as the case may be, in each capacity for which it serves hereunder (including, without limitation, as Custodian, Certificate Registrar, 17g-5 Information Provider and Authenticating Agent)."
