NEET is the National Eligibility Entrance Test for the medicine seat in india.
Writing Neet is necessary to get medicine seat in the medical colleges as neet score is the only basis for the selection into some of the colleges.
By getting through neet exam you will get an MBBS seat and that gives you a doctor degree.
Admissions to about 93,919 MBBS and BDS seats in the medical and dental colleges of India other than AIIMS and JIPMER will be done on the basis of NEET scores. Admissions to AYUSH courses, B.Sc and AH medical courses are also through NEET.

Dear Anjali, NEET is the entrance examinatiom for admission to Medical, Dental and Ayush colleges across India. The colleges might be Government or Private and the seats might be Government or Management seats. Now NEET is also mandatory for studying Medicine abroad. And now NEET score is being considered for Veterinary Sciences as well. So, in short if you want to become a Doctor either in India or abroad, you have to appear for NEET. If you want to become a Dentist/Homeopathy Doctor/Ayurvedic Doctor or even a Veterinary Doctor, NEET is mandatory. It cannot be summed up any better.
