B.Tech Biotechnology is a branch of engineering which mainly focuses on biological engineering. It caters to a wide range of research fields from genetics to immunology, virology etc.

Please keep in mind, B.Tech Biotechnology has very limited scope currently when it comes to India. It is research oriented field, so most of the time work will be in university laboratory and research labs.

In Uttar Pradesh, there very very few government colleges that have decent research and lab facilities required for the field. Lets list down some of these for you.

1. IIT Kanpur.
IIT Kanpur is one of the oldest IITs established in India. It is among the 7 old IITs that caters to the technological development in the country.
