You have not mentioned the institute for which you want a hostel seat. Neither did you tagged it, so it is quite difficult to tell about it.

If we talk about the Delhi University Institutes for hostel facilities, you have quite good chances of procuring a hostel seat but it will be somewhat difficult in some south campuses.
