Hi Student,

The d-block elements lie in between s- and p-block elements, i.e., these are positioned in the middle of the period table. The d-block elements are also called transition metals as they have valence electrons in d orbitals.

The d-block elements are represent the elements of 4 th period, 5 th period, 6 th period, and 7 th period. They contain elements of  group 3 to group 12.
