The rebound of rays of light from shiny or glossy surface is called reflection of light. Reflection is one of the distinctive properties of light and this property enables us to see things.
The laws of reflection of light are as follows:

1. The first law of reflection states that, the reflected ray, the incident ray and the normal to the surface of mirror, all lie in the same plane.

2. The second law of reflection states that the angle of incidence is equal to the angle of reflection.
Both the angles are measured with respect to the normal of the mirror.
