as per your qualification you can be hired as a head cook, however you need to apply for different companies as far as you meet the eligibility criteria. you may also apply to different cruise company, salaries are same as a 5 star hotel, after you gain 2-3 years experience by hard working , you may expect salary more than of five star hotels chief.

After BSc in hotel management, you will be selected in the galley department initially at the rank of 2nd Cook/ steward /GS, terminologies might differ from company to company. And then depending on your determination and dedication towards your work, you will be promoted to the rank of chief cook.

As a chief cook in merchant navy, you will be earning more than the average package provided by most of the hotels.

For entering into merchant navy after degrre/ diploma in hotel management, you need to the courses below:

• Certificate Course in Maritime Catering (CCMC)
• Orientation Course for Catering Personnel (OCCP)

These courses need to be done after diploma/ degree in hotel mamangement.
