Drug safety officer and food safety officer, both have some common roles in ensuring public health and safety. But they work in different domains.

Drug safety officers are responsible for monitoring and assessing the safety of prescription drugs, medicines and medical devices. They identify and evaluate the side effects of using these products.

Whereas the food safety officers, they set the standards related to food hygiene, sanitation and labeling to prevent contamination.

You typically need a Bachelor's degree in pharmacy, medicine,life sciences or in a related field to become a drug safety officer(pharmacovigilance officer). Entry level salaries for drug safety officer may range from INR300000 to INR600000 per year. With experience and advanced degrees you may earn higher salary ranging from 600000 to 1500000 or more annually.
