Greetings!!

Astronomy studies celestial objects like moon, planets, nebulae, galaxies basically the objects outside earth this seems really exciting but it is really hard to be an astronomer.it takes longer time than time taken in normal studies.you need to start early in this field take astronomy related classes that build your skill.

For astronomy you should pursue one of these undergraduate courses B.Sc./Bachelor’s in physics, astronomy or astrophysics,

After that you need to do  Master of Science in Astronomy

get a doctorate in astronomy.do a research fellowship and finally apply for astronomer position.

Hey!

Astronomy is a scientific course which deals with the study of the physical universe; it is focused on events, objects, and phenomena that originate outside the earth’s atmosphere. Eligibility Criteria for Astronomy vary each university, depending on their choice in previous degree course scores or grades, as well as essential background subjects of study.

For undergraduate degree

1. Candidates must score a minimum 50% marks after averaging the marks they have in all subjects and above in 12 grades.

2. Candidates must have completed their 12th grade in science with math and physics as subjects.

3. Astronomy admissions are either based on an entrance exam or on merit, depending on the institution's criteria.

For Postgraduate degree

1. It is necessary to obtain a minimum of 55% marks in average and above in a bachelor’s degree.

2. Must have completed a bachelor’s degree in science (physics, mathematics, astrophysics or astronomy).

3. Admissions based on entrance exams or merit-based as per the Institution’s requirement.

Astronomy Entrance Exams

Many universities conduct entrance examinations for the admission process, while several universities proceed admissions based on the merit list. Some of the entrance exams for pursuing an undergraduate and postgraduate degree in astronomy include;

I.  IISER Aptitude Test

The entrance exam for the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) is for B.Sc. and M.Sc. degree admissions. The Institute organises it once a year.

ii. JNUEE

The Jawaharlal Nehru University Entrance Exam (JNUEE) is held once a year for admission to the university's numerous undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes. The National Testing Agency (NTA) administers the test in an online format.

iii. IIT JAM

Every year, the Joint Admission Test for MSc (JAM) is a national-level entrance test held by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) for admissions to Masters degree programmes in science fields.
