Role of MBBS percentage in NEET PG (medicine) ranking

Just like your 12th marks didn't matter in NEET UG ranking, similarly, your MBBS percentage do not matter at all in NEET PG ranking. You just need to pass your MBBS examinations, complete your internship, and achieve your MBBS degree so as to be eligible for NEET PG. The rest is your hard work that would be reflected in your NEET score and would help you to achieve a good ranking and the college of your choice.

NEET PG is the national level entrance exam and the exam is administered by National Board of Examinations (NBE). The exam is conducted for admissions to the postgraduate medical courses in the country. Thrpugh this exam candidates can get admissions to Master of Surgery (MS) and Doctor of Medicine (MD) courses in the country.

According to the NEET PG Eligibility criteria, candidates are required to have completed the MBBS Degree. Marks in the MBBS course are not considered for calculating the ranks of candidates. Ranks are calculated for admission to the Postgraduate programmes on the basis of marks of candidate in the NEET PG entrance exam only.

NEET PG Eligibility Criteria is as follows-

Candidates must possess MBBS degree or provisional MBBS pass certificate and it should be recognized as per the provisions under Indian Medical Council 1956.

In the NEET PG Result, merit list is released which contain the names of the candidates in order of their merit rank. Candidates who qualify according to the NEET PG result, individual rank cards of such candidates are also released. In order to be included in the rank list, candidates need to meet the minimum cutoff percentile.

On what basis ranking will be given  if more than one candidate gets similar mark in NEET PG entrance exam

Hi ChandiniIf two or more candidates obtain same marks, then the merit position shall be determined using the tie breaking criteria. Tie Breaking criteria in descending order is as follows- 1. Candidate who will be having lesser number of negative responses in the whole paper (Part A+ Part B+ Part C) will be placed at a better merit position.2. Candidate who will obtain higher marks in Part C of the question paper will be placed at a better merit position.3. Candidate who will be having lesser number of negative responses in Part C of the question paper will be placed at a better merit position.4. Candidate who will be obtaining higher marks in Part B of the question paper will be placed at a better merit position.5. Candidate who will be having lesser number of negative responses in Part B of the question paper will be placed at a better merit position.6. Candidate who will be obtaining higher marks in Part A of the question paper will be placed at a better merit position.7.Candidate who will be having lesser number of negative responses in Part A of the question paper will be placed at a better merit position.8.Older candidate will be placed at a better merit position. Hope this helps.Good Luck!
