See JEE-Main is the national entrance examination for admission to B.Tech courses offered by different NITs/IIITs/GFTIs/SFTIs, so as per the central reservation scheme there will be 10% seats reserved for EWS category aspirants, now if you belongs to EWS category and have valid EWS certificate then you should apply under EWS category because it will be beneficial for you. Let us discuss why it would be beneficial, so cut-off for reservation categories are lower as compare to that of General category and your chances get increased by slight variation for admission to better engineering institutions as compared to that of General category aspirant and even some institutions have fee relaxation criteria too for reservation categories such as EWS/SC/ST/OBC.
