Dear Candidate,

That entirely depends on your caliber and area of interest. Economics is a very good option since it has good amount of career prospects. You can prepare well for several competitive exams if you have economics as your subject. Also, you can apply in foreign universities for masters in economics as they can give you good paying and reputed jobs.

Hope this helps.

Hey there!s

It's a great option to be honest, you can go ahead and pursue economics honours after graduation as it is currently high in demand and economist are paid good money in India and everywhere else. The course is structured in a way that it will expose you the basics of economics in the beginning, how economy works  on an individual level and aggregate level. You'll learn about aggregate economic indicators in India, how economy in India works, policies in India post Independence period so it's also an interesting subject and worth the time and effort.

Best of luck.
