hope you are doing well

see doing NCERT chapter wise chapter is equally important as doing reference books.

It's totally depends on topic to topic. For some topic NCERT is enough but for some topics you need to refer other books. NCERT are very important books for your preparation you should complete it first then you can go for other books. You can get direct questions from NCERT books.

Physics can be prepared well with the NCERT book for JEE mains: Get thorough with NCERT of physics to build a strong foundation. Read both the 11th and 12th physics NCERT books for JEE mains. You should not skip the whole NCERT book of Physics, Chemistry and Maths for JEE Mains as they are the basic books which help you clear your concept in a very easy way plus they contain hundreds of questions for your practice and sometimes you will find NCERTs question in JEE Mains

Many students and even teachers have the misconception that reading NCERTs are a waste of time.

I believe they cannot be anymore wrong

You need to realize that every chapter is a combined effort of many great scientists around the world who specialize in that field. If you don’t believe me, just read the first few pages of each book. NCERT gave me a different way of looking at Science and Mathematics. Not a way essential for cracking JEE, but a way essential to start loving them. I had never looked at Physics the way I started looking at it after reading NCERT.

The speciality of NCERT is that they are written in non-technical way. They do not aim for providing you formulas so that you can start solving question papers, but they give you a reason to study those formulas. They give you a view of how and why all of this was created. Moreover, they actually might work as a motivation to keep studying!

I recommend that you read all the chapters and then solve all the numericals

hope this is helpful for you
