If you are really interested in getting into an IIT or NIT but unfortunately feel you are not prepared enough, you may consider taking a drop and currently focussing on Board Exams. However do give JEE Mains this year, as you will get an idea of time management, the questions and have a very important experience.

JEE Mains as well as Advanced us all about strategy and hardwork. You need proper strategy in regular preparation, strategic selection of study material as well as a proper test taking strategy.

Hello aspirant.

As you know JEE mains and advanced syllabus is basically your 11th and 12th syllabus. Also, there is no need to give a gap for JEE and 12th standard, but again it all depends on you. But I suggest you give JEE a try and write JEE mains after the 12th board exams by applying. So that if you write once you can have an experience and analysis of the question standard, toughness, and management of time. Hence it is better to write once after the 12th exams and then if you get less or more, you can improve your performance in the next attempt.

Hope this answer helps you.

All the best!!!!

Hello,

The syllabus for JEE is basically your 11th and 12th topics. So it is not required for you to a year drop for the preparation. I suggest that you attempt the exam this year, so that if you qualify with good marks then well and good but if not still this attempt will be helpful as it will help you understand how the questions are asked and so you can prepare accordingly for the next year.

So give a try this year and if you are not happy with the results then repeat for another year and prepare well and give the exam.

Good Luck
