From my research, a student who is improving in 12th CBSE , a new roll number is assingned to the candidate for the improvement exam.

Durinh the application submission new roll number along with application number has to be noted down.A student can improve 1 or more than 1 subject.

Yes , your roll number will change in the improvement exam as you are appearing as a new candidate .

Only your report card will show improvement written over it with your marks obtained. So you will be having a new roll number for the improvement exam.
