Hello, as you have not mentioned your category so I am assuming you to be in general category and at this rank you can't get any Nit, IIIT and other top colleges like Bit Mesra, Dtu, Nsit , Hbtu Kanpur Pec Chandigarh.

So, it would be good if you apply for other states government and private colleges which accepts Jee mains marks for admission or you can also apply for private universities like Chandigarh University, Lovely Professional University, Graphic Era, Galgotia University ,Amity University.

Refer to this link it will help you about finding colleges based on your rank

And if you want to take drop you can also go with it but you have to work very hard and learn all subjects and their concepts very strongly. It's depends on your preparation how many marks you will get next year.

For preparation by dropping year refer to this link it will help you

All the best.
Hope this will help you.

Both the options can go well. In today's time the value of private universities have been lifted, there are many good private universities that offer good placements and are good in academics as well.

But if you are determined to study in IIT and live the life of an IITian then you should take another year drop and study with focus and determination and crack your exam.
