At 89 percentile in JEE Mains it is difficult to get any NITs/IIITs for a general category student. 89 percentile mens your JEE Mains rank will be above 1 lac. However if you are OBC/SC/ST then you have a slight chance of getting into NITs. Also in NITs there's a home state quota. It means that let's say you are from the state of Maharashtra then you have the benefit of home state quota in NIT Nagpur only.

89 percentile in JEE main is actually not upto mark for getting any branch in any National institute of technology. So, for chemical engineering branch you have not achieved a good enough rank.

But you may try for other engineering colleges which gives admission on the basis of the JEE main marks. You can surely get the desired branch in engineering college in your own state. Search for the college in your state that gives admission with 89 percentile. You surely will get one.
